DJ Sesqui(meaning one and a half), has been Djing for
10 years. He got his start in L.A. in 94 doing small
events around the city with partner Carlos Nino
("Space ways" KPFK). Both affluent in art of
excavating funk, soul, jazz records turned on
listeners to their finds in clubs like Luna Sol, Mama
Gyas, and Fais Do Dos. Soon there after they teamed up
with the likes of young musicians like Miles Tacket
(aka Kid Named Miles)and began to do a mix of both
live funk cover bands (The Breakestra) and rare groove
mixing at a spot called The Breaks(later known as The
Rootdown).
